Miquel Massana, a versatile pianist and conductor, is known for his work across symphonic, operatic, and cobla music, along with a strong passion for music education and outreach.

He is currently the artistic and music director of the Rovira i Virgili University Symphony Orchestra and principal conductor of the Jove Orquestra de Ponent. He has also guest-conducted for the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, Camerata XXI, and the Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana, among others.

In 2022, Massana began his operatic career with Don Giovanni for the Fundació Òpera Catalunya and has since worked at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, first as assistant conductor for La Cenerentola and later as music director for Azul como una naranja. He is also the music director of the Tarragona Opera Choir.

​The Orchestra of the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona (ORCA), founded in 1992 by concertmaster Javier Mateos, is a key player in the Catalan cultural scene. Known for delivering high-quality performances, ORCA is currently under the direction of César Arístides Mateos.

The orchestra has participated in major events such as the Joan Manén Year at the Palau de la Música Catalana and collaborated with innovative groups like La Fura dels Baus. Notably, ORCA presented the musical version of Jaume Cabré's I Confess, supported by funding from the Australian government.

With its home at the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona, a cultural institution founded in 1881 and located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, ORCA benefits from the artistic energy of this historic venue. The orchestra and the Cercle form a unique cultural partnership, supporting multidisciplinary collaborations.

ORCA has become a key part of Barcelona’s cultural scene, known for its artistic innovation and musical excellence, enriching the city’s artistic offerings with its standout performances.
